Sports TV is a major attraction to the pub goer, and Wokingham caters for them in many ways, quieter places with screens and no sound, to the full, multiscreen, multichannel experience, with food available too.
While the Rugby World Cup runs we highlight The Molly Millar with BT Sport on the biggest screen and food,The Ship for their TV patio, The Broad Street Tavern, The Raglan, for a variety of styles. The Gig House for viewing over a group meal, the Hope and Anchor, Crispin, Dukes Head for more relaxing viewing and real ales. The Roebuck for viewing with a Balti curry.
Wokingham was once famous for the number of pubs per head of population, although not in the record books any longer there are still a wide selection of pubs in and around the town. We are often asked about 'the best pub in Wokingham' and have to reply 'there are many of them', rather than a smart reply this indicative of the variety of choices.
For family groups the Gig House or the Three Frogs may be best, for music the Hope and Anchor is a regular, for real ale then the Crispin and the Broad Street Tavern stand out the Ship or the Molly Millar may be your pick, for a quiet liason, a summer garden, a smart modern look, etc. then look for through the list below.
When looking for food there are choices from pub grub to grill houses. We do recommend that you call ahead to check availability as the smaller places do vary the serving hours from time to time, and larger places may need booking.
